About the Role
Job Overview :
We are looking for an experienced Shopify Developer to join our e-commerce team. In this role, you will collaborate with our existing Shopify developer and other cross-functional teams to create, optimize, and maintain high-performing online stores. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of overall web development experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on expertise building custom features on the Shopify platform. Experience in Node.js is a must, especially for server-side integrations, app development, and API work.
Key Responsibilities:
Custom Theme Development
Develop and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
Collaborate with designers to translate mockups into high-quality Shopify front-end experiences.
App Integration & Customization
Install and configure third-party Shopify apps to extend store functionality (subscriptions, loyalty programs, payment gateways, etc.).
Develop or customize custom apps in Node.js when necessary, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
Site Performance & Optimization
Implement best practices for SEO, page speed, and overall store performance.
Identify and fix performance bottlenecks at both front-end and back-end levels.
API & 3rd-Party Integrations
Integrate Shopify with external services (CRM, ERP, payment gateways) via REST/GraphQL APIs.
Build server-side integrations using Node.js to connect Shopify data with other platforms.
Testing & QA
Write clean, maintainable code with unit/integration tests where appropriate.
Troubleshoot and debug production issues, implementing fixes in a timely manner.
Collaboration & Agile Practices
Work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers in an Agile environment.
Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and mentor junior developers (if applicable).
Documentation & Version Control
Maintain proper documentation of custom code, configurations, and integrations.
Use Git or other version control systems to manage source code and workflows.
Qualifications
3–4 years of overall web development experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to Shopify.
Solid experience in Node.js for server-side code, API integrations, and custom app development.
Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries.
Experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront, Admin) and webhooks for app integrations.
Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser/platform compatibility.
Solid understanding of eCommerce best practices, UX/UI, and performance optimization.
Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows (branches, pull requests).
Working knowledge of REST/GraphQL APIs for third-party integrations.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
