As a fast-growing fintech startup, we're looking for a passionate mobile developer to join our founding team and help build a product that will transform how people budget and save.
The Opportunity
As our Contract Mobile App Developer, you'll be instrumental in creating our React Native application from the ground up. You'll work directly with our CTO and founding team to build an intuitive, secure, and engaging financial wellness platform that automatically splits users' paychecks based on their goals and budgeting rules. Creating a user-friendly experience is absolutely critical to our mission - our app must make complex financial management feel simple and intuitive for users of all backgrounds.
What You'll Do
Design and build our mobile application using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms
Create an exceptionally intuitive user experience that makes financial management accessible to users of all skill levels.
Develop simple, engaging visualizations that help users understand their financial progress at a glance.
Design frictionless onboarding flows that maximize user activation and retention.
Collaborate with our backend team to integrate open banking APIs for real-time financial data and automated transfers.
Implement secure authentication flows and ensure data privacy compliance
Participate in user testing and rapidly incorporate feedback into the development process
Create interfaces that guide users through complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience with React Native development
Strong portfolio demonstrating polished, user-friendly mobile applications
Deep understanding of mobile UX principles and best practices
Experience designing intuitive financial interfaces and data visualizations
Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Context API, etc.)
Knowledge of mobile authentication patterns and security best practices
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern ES6+ features
Experience with API integration and async programming patterns
Ability to create seamless, frictionless user flows and onboarding experiences
Nice to Have
Experience with financial applications or fintech products
Knowledge of open banking APIs and financial ecosystems
Experience with Firebase or similar backend-as-a-service platforms
Understanding of data visualization libraries (D3.js, Victory, etc.)
Experience with automated testing frameworks for React Native
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
