This is a full-time hybrid role for a an AWS Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines on AWS to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning workloads. Their role involves working with AWS cloud services to process, store, and analyze large-scale data efficiently.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. AWS Account Compliance Automation
Use AWS Config to monitor resource configurations.
Implement AWS Organizations for multi-account governance.
Enforce security policies with AWS IAM, SCPs (Service Control Policies), and AWS Audit Manager.
Automate compliance checks with AWS Security Hub, AWS Inspector, and AWS Lambda.
2. AWS Account Strategy
Design a multi-account strategy using AWS Organizations and AWS Control Tower.
Use separate accounts for Production, Staging, Development, and Security.
Implement cross-account roles (IAM) for access control.
3. Compute & Scalability
AWS EC2: Virtual machines for scalable compute power.
AWS Lambda: Serverless functions for event-driven computing.
AWS Auto Scaling: Adjust EC2 instances based on demand.
AWS Elastic Load Balancer (ELB): Distribute traffic across EC2 instances.
4. Storage & Data Management
Amazon S3: Object storage for files, backups, and logs.
AWS Glacier: Long-term archival storage for cost optimization.
AWS EBS: Block storage for EC2 instances with snapshots.
Amazon DynamoDB: NoSQL database for low-latency applications.
Amazon DocumentDB: Managed MongoDB-compatible database for JSON-based workloads.
5. Networking & Security
AWS VPC: Isolated cloud networks for security and performance.
AWS CloudFront: Global CDN for caching and faster content delivery.
AWS WAF & Shield: Protection against DDoS attacks.
6. Event-Driven & Messaging Services
AWS Kinesis: Real-time data streaming for logs, analytics, and monitoring.
AWS SNS (Simple Notification Service): Publish-subscribe messaging for alerts.
AWS SQS (Simple Queue Service): Asynchronous messaging for decoupled systems.
7. Automation & Optimization
AWS Lambda: Automate tasks such as backups, compliance checks, and security audits.
AWS CloudFormation: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent deployments.
AWS Cost Explorer & AWS Budgets: Cost tracking and optimization.
