Hey there,
I'm Mehul, co-founder of Fabric, and I'm looking for an exceptional engineer to join our founding team.
A few months back, we set out to solve a major pain point: hiring is slow, inconsistent, and inefficient. The root cause? The challenge of assessing talent at scale. We built Fabric – an AI interviewer that conducts in-depth technical assessments through audio and video calls, helping companies hire better talent faster and at massive scale.
So far me, Ketan (another co-founder) and Naveen (our frontend specialist) have written all the code – and we're already conducting 5,000 fully automated AI calls per month. We've created something that genuinely excites people – candidates enjoy the interview experience, and companies are seeing real improvements in their hiring process! We've got good momentum and are ready to take the next step in our journey.
Here's where you come in: We need a talented software developer who can take ownership of our engineering infrastructure and product development. I'm looking for someone who can help us scale and build further.
What you'll do
Architect and develop our backend, scaling it for growing demand while implementing new features.
Both lead and collaborate with the team to ship innovative features that elevate the user experience.
Enhance our interview experiences for superior performance.
Establish robust DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines using AWS, Docker, and GitHub Actions.
Configure and manage cloud infrastructure as needed.
Drive important architectural decisions.
Work closely with our founding team to align technical implementation with our product vision.
Above all, be versatile and solution-oriented – technology is just a tool, and we need someone ready to tackle whatever challenges arise to move forward.
Our tech stack
We've built our platform with Python/Django on the backend and React for our frontend. We use Redis for caching and Celery for handling background tasks. Everything runs on AWS infrastructure and is containerized with Docker. Our real-time interviews work through WebSockets, and we've implemented video streaming to create a smooth experience for candidates. On the AI side, we work with modern LLMs, and MMMs(multi modal models), audio processing tools, and custom ML models that help us analyze technical interviews effectively.
Who you are
You've built and shipped production software for 3+ years, ideally with experience at fast-moving startups.
You're genuinely excited about Python and Django, and have deep experience with both.
You understand React well enough to not just collaborate but also take ownership of frontend tasks when needed.
You've worked with asynchronous architectures (Redis, Celery) and know their strengths and limitations.
You're comfortable with AWS and containerization.
You have experience with WebSockets or similar real-time technologies.
You know what good DevOps looks like and can implement those practices.
Bonus points for experience with video streaming or AI/ML deployment.
