Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer to upgrade our client’s Products to support the latest APIs and Feature enhancements. The role involves analysing API changes as per the Open service broker API specifications, refactoring existing logic, ensuring compatibility with new service offerings, and optimizing performance. The ideal candidate has experience in upgrade projects involving API integrations, understand authentication mechanism and security implementation (e.g.: TLS 1.2) & cloud platform deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Upgrade the Service Broker code to support the latest API versions
Upgrade environment dependencies for Ruby and Rails versions
Refactor and enhance the broker logic for improved maintainability and performance.
Ensure API compatibility with cloud service platform namely Pivotal cloud foundry (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Cloud Foundry).
Implement authentication mechanisms, Basic, OAuth, API keys.
Develop and execute unit, integration, and API tests to validate upgrades.
Maintain documentation for API changes and integration guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Overall, 5-6 Years of experience with 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, particularly in API development.
Strong experience with RESTful APIs and troubleshooting skills
Writing RSpec/MiniTest unit and integration tests.
Understand build, deployment and dependencies management for Ruby code
Debugging tools like byebug, Pry, and Rails console.
Knowledge of Cloud Foundry Service Broker API or similar frameworks would be an added advantage
Knowledge of JSON-Schema, OpenAPI (Swagger), and API documentation best practices.
Experience with Git, and Agile methodologies.
