Come join the Virtual Experts Platform (VEP) as a Staff Software Engineer. VEP powers AI-driven digital expertise and AI-assisted human expertise for all Intuit customers to ensure customers who enter the Intuit ecosystem never experience a ‘dead-end’ and always have a trusted expert by their side to help them along the way. VEP is core toIntuit’s Big Bet 2 and serves every single customer and that touches all the products across the tech ecosystem including expertise-led offerings such as TurboTax Live, TurboTax FullService, QuickBooks Live.We are looking for seasoned technology leads with a platform mind and experience in building and running highly performant
solutions at scale. You will draw upon deep technical expertise, solid analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to steerthe platform with a futuristic vision and innovation. You will quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player.This role needs a highly motivated, self-starter with strong problem solving & technical skills. In this role, you will be a trailblazer working on complex features and functions that experts rely on for collaboration with customers to deliver the service. Along withcoding, you will be responsible for working with product managers, other developers and designers on our agile team structure. What you'll bring
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
8+ years of professional experience with expertise in developing, maintaining, and innovating large-scale, consumer-facing mobile applications
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to different audiences
Familiarity with the development challenges that come with highly scalable and available web applications
Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience in evaluating and monitoring the performance of AI technology in production and making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal application performance
Possesses understanding of AI integration and can lead the integration process effectively, while coaching junior engineers on how to leverage AI
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and software engineers
How you will lead
Architecting and developing web, software, mobile apps, prototypes, or proofs of concepts
Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
Roughly 40-60% hands-on coding
Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results
Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, web and/or mobile apps
Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
