About the Role
Job Title: Oracle PL/SQL & ORDS Developer
Location: Remote
Job Type: Contract
Contract Period - 6months(extendable)
Responsibilities:
PL/SQL Development:
Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and SQL queries.
Write efficient and optimized SQL queries for data manipulation, retrieval, and reporting.
Develop and implement data validation and integrity checks within the database.
Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
Create and maintain database documentation, including technical specifications and design documents.
Collaborate with application developers to integrate database logic into applications.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
ORDS Development and Management:
Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) to expose database functionalities and data.
Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for ORDS APIs.
Develop custom RESTful services using SQL and PL/SQL within the ORDS framework.
Work with JSON data structures for request and response payloads in ORDS APIs.
Configure and manage ORDS in different deployment environments (e.g., standalone Jetty, WebLogic, Tomcat).
Monitor and troubleshoot ORDS deployments and API performance.
Utilize ORDS features like Auto REST for tables and views, and PL/SQL Gateway.
Create and maintain documentation for ORDS APIs.
Integrate ORDS APIs with various front-end applications and external systems.
General Responsibilities:
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Adhere to company coding standards and best practices.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database and ORDS technologies.
Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years of proven experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer.
Solid understanding of relational database concepts and SQL.
Hands-on experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) development and deployment.
Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
Proficiency in working with JSON data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
