Job Title: Active Directory Engineer
Location: Remote
Contract: 12 Months
Experience Level: 15+ overall, 8 + relevant years
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Active Directory Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Security Architecture and Azure AD/Entra ID. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, implementing, securing, and managing AD environments in hybrid cloud infrastructures. This role requires hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Objects (GPO), Conditional Access Policies, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and security threat detection.
Key Responsibilities:
Active Directory & Azure AD Management: Design, implement, and maintain secure Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD/Entra ID environments.
Security & Compliance: Conduct security assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis to ensure compliance with industry regulations (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
IAM & Authentication: Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, including Azure AD Conditional Access, MFA, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
Hybrid Cloud Integration: Collaborate with IT teams to manage hybrid identity solutions, ensuring secure authentication between on-prem and cloud environments.
Incident Response & Monitoring: Detect and mitigate security threats using Microsoft Defender for Identity (MDI) and other security tools.
Automation & Optimization: Utilize PowerShell scripting and automation tools to enhance AD operations and security.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
✔ Microsoft Active Directory Security Architecture
✔ Azure AD/Entra ID (Azure AD Premium Features)
✔ Experience working on Microsoft FTE Payroll
✔ AD Components: DNS, GPO, ADFS, Azure AD Connect
✔ Identity Security: Conditional Access Policies, MFA, PIM, MDI
✔ Zero Trust Architecture & IAM Best Practices
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CISSP, CEH, CCSP
Experience with identity governance and compliance frameworks
Knowledge of cloud security and hybrid cloud authentication
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and identity management
Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST)
