About the Role
PTC Windchill Developer
Overview
Champion Home Builders is seeking an experienced PTC Windchill Developer to design, implement, and maintain configurations, customizations and enhancements for our enterprise cloud PLM (Windchill+) systems. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive development expertise in PTC Windchill environments, with the technical capability to perform quality assurance testing as part of the development lifecycle. This role is critical to supporting our digital transformation initiatives and ensuring optimal PLM system performance across our plants.
Key Responsibilities
Development
Configure, design, develop, and implement OOTB and custom solutions and extensions for PTC Windchill+ and ThingWorx Navigate
Create and enhance workflows, life cycles, and business rules to meet specific organizational requirements
Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to facilitate data-driven decision making
Implement user interface improvements to enhance user experience and productivity
Optimize queries and system performance through code refinement
Develop data migration scripts and utilities to support roll out to plants
Build and maintain integrations between Windchill and other enterprise systems (ERP, CAD, MES, etc.)
Quality Assurance
Design and execute comprehensive test plans for all developed solutions before deployment
Validate that all configurations and customizations developed by vendors meet performance, security, and scalability requirements
Perform unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing of code and configurations
Test system behavior under various load conditions to ensure production readiness
Verify system compatibility across browsers, devices, and operating environments
Technical Leadership
Document technical specifications, development approaches, and system configurations
Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices
Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
Create knowledge base articles and technical documentation for support teams
Collaborate with business analysts to refine requirements and propose optimal technical solutions
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for system optimization and performance enhancement
Leverage new PTC features and capabilities to deliver additional business value
Monitor system health and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Required Skills & Qualifications
4+ years of hands-on development experience with PTC Windchill platform
Experience with ThingWorx Navigate development and customization
Demonstrated experience in quality assurance methodologies and testing frameworks
Proficiency in version control systems (Git, CCD) and continuous integration practices
Knowledge of CAD systems (AutoCAD preferred) and their integration with Windchill
Experience with ESI, web services, REST APIs, and system integration techniques
Ability to work effectively with 4-hour overlap with US time zone (until 2PM ET)
