Job Title: Map Engineer (4–5 Years Experience)
Location: Pune
Type: Full-time
Industry: Mobilite Smart Solutions India Pvt Ltd, Pune
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Map Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in geospatial technologies and mapping platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in GIS tools, geospatial data processing, web mapping libraries, and backend services integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive mapping applications using Mapbox or MapLibre GL JS
Work with QGIS or ArcGIS for spatial analysis, data preparation, and visualization
Process and analyze geospatial data using Python and GeoPandas
Integrate Google Maps APIs (Directions, Routing, Autocomplete, Map Tiles) into web and mobile applications
Build and enhance geospatial APIs and web interfaces using JavaScript, ReactJS, and Node.js
Store, manage, and query spatial data using PostgreSQL with PostGIS
Develop tools for isochrones, routing, and spatial queries to support various products and services
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver geospatial insights and solutions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
4–5 years of experience in GIS and mapping engineering roles
Proficiency in QGIS or ArcGIS
Strong programming skills in Python with experience in GeoPandas
In-depth knowledge of Mapbox or MapLibre GL JS
Experience using Google Maps APIs (Directions, Routing, Places, Tiles)
Solid experience in JavaScript, ReactJS, and Node.js
Expertise in spatial databases, especially PostgreSQL + PostGIS
Familiarity with working on isochrone generation and geospatial data workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering Graduate.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for geospatial services
Knowledge of H3 or other spatial indexing systems
Understanding of spatial data standards (GeoJSON, WKT, etc.)
Prior experience in logistics, urban mobility, or location intelligence domains
