Role Overview: Lead Data Engineer (Azure)
As a Senior Azure Data Engineer (Lead), you will:
Architect and build scalable data platforms using Microsoft Azure
Lead a team of engineers, set best practices, and ensure high-quality deliverables
Collaborate with business stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic goals
Own end-to-end lifecycle: from data ingestion to analytics enablement
Tech Stack & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership:
Drive architecture for Azure-based enterprise data platforms
Lead the implementation of Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Blob Storage, and Data Lake
Define and enforce standards for data pipeline governance, security, and performance
Data Engineering:
Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured/unstructured data
Model data using star/snowflake schemas, and apply data vault methodologies
Optimize SQL and Python/PySpark code for high-volume performance
DevOps & Cloud Enablement:
Automate deployments using Azure DevOps, CI/CD, ARM templates, and GitHub Actions
Monitor resources for performance, cost, and compliance
Stay current with Azure innovations (e.g., Purview, Fabric)
Qualifications
8–12 years of relevant experience in Data Engineering
Minimum 5 years hands-on with Azure data tools
Proficiency in SQL, Python/PySpark, and Spark
Prior experience in team leadership or managing technical delivery
Exposure to Power BI (DAX, modeling) is a plus
Azure Certifications preferred: DP-203, DP-700, AZ-305
Solutions Architect preferred

Work Mode: Work-from-home / Hybrid
Locations: Pune or Trivandrum
