Senior Kubernetes Operations Engineer
Role Overview:
The Senior Kubernetes Operations Engineer will architect, implement, and maintain the operational framework for a multi-tenant AWS EKS Kubernetes cluster. This role focuses on enabling multiple teams to deploy, manage, and scale their applications efficiently and securely, while ensuring best practices in CI/CD, resource sharing, and cluster governance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Kubernetes operations, multi-team environments, and building developer-friendly deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement a multi-tenant Kubernetes environment, including namespace management, RBAC, resource quotas, and network segmentation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or Flux) to automate application deployment and versioning.
• Establish and enforce best practices for application onboarding, configuration management, and release processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cluster and application health (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, etc.).
• Collaborate with application teams to provide guidance on Kubernetes resource optimization, scaling, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and maintain Helm charts, Kustomize, or other templating tools for consistent application deployment.
• Ensure security and compliance through policy enforcement (OPA/Gatekeeper, Pod Security Policies, etc.).
• Document operational procedures, onboarding guides, and troubleshooting playbooks.
• Lead incident response for cluster or application-level issues, performing root cause analysis and remediation.
• Stay up to date with Kubernetes ecosystem advancements and recommend improvements to cluster operations.


Required Skills & Experience:
• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Kubernetes operations roles.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes administration (EKS preferred), including networking, storage, and security.
• Experience designing and managing multi-tenant/shared Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong proficiency with CI/CD tools and GitOps workflows.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes add-ons (Ingress controllers, service mesh, monitoring/logging stacks).
• Scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Go, etc.).
• Strong understanding of container security, RBAC, and policy management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) preferred.
