About the Role

Job purpose
We are looking for a Senior IT & Broadcast Engineer. The role works as part of a shift-working team providing operational support, incident management and stakeholder communication for the systems used to produce, publish and serve content on TV, Digital and Audio Platform.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Design and implement end-to-end Newsroom Content workflows, ensuring seamless integration across editorial, production, and broadcast systems.
Provide hands-on technical support for Gallery, Server Rooms, Audio/Video Studios, Editing Suites, Field Teams, and the Newsroom.
Engineering knowledge across indoor and outdoor broadcasting environments, including live and recorded productions.
Perform system updates and configuration adjustments, initiating prompt responses to service disruptions and implementing proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate incident logs, detailing technical issues, responses, and corrective actions.
Develop and execute contingency procedures to address both planned maintenance and unexpected events.
Ensure consistent handover of technical information and incidents across shifts for operational continuity.
Demonstrate deep understanding of IT Broadcast Automation systems and newsroom software integration.
Stay current with operational changes and industry advancements, aligning practices with broadcast best standards.
Create, maintain, and refine technical documentation, including system workflows and SOPs.
Prioritize tasks based on service impact and remain effective under high-pressure situations.
Exhibit strong problem-solving acumen, quickly diagnosing and resolving complex broadcast issues.
Communicate clearly and confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Foster effective teamwork and maintain proactive communication with colleagues across departments.



Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
Advanced configuration expertise in NRCS platforms, particularly NXTedition, supporting streamlined news production workflows.
Skilled in configuring and managing Play out and Ingest servers, ensuring seamless content delivery and media flow.
Experienced in managing and troubleshooting Access Points (APs), network switches, and firewalls to maintain secure and efficient network operations.
Deep knowledge of on-premises and cloud-based storage environments, including media archiving and retrieval protocols.
Proficient in managing and troubleshooting HTML5-based graphics engines, including Caspar CG.
Hands-on experience with editing platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro, supporting post-production workflows.
Strong understanding of IP addressing schemes, sub netting, and VLAN configuration for broadcast and IT networks.
Adept at supporting macOS and Windows-based end-user systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Advanced skills in configuring and managing Windows Server infrastructure, covering roles such as DNS, DHCP, file services, and user access.
Foundational knowledge of Broadcast Audio and Video systems, contributing to hybrid IT-broadcast environments.
Working knowledge of ILL and Point-to-Point (P2P) circuits, supporting high-bandwidth media connectivity.
Familiar with River Silica IPTV monitoring platforms, enabling real-time signal monitoring and performance assurance.
Understanding of MITEL VoIP systems, enhancing communication workflows within production environments.
Extensive experience in configuring and operating vMix live production software, including integration with broadcast automation systems.

Minimum 12 Years of experience required.
Technology Degree is mandatory.
