About the Role
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Django Developer with hands-on experience in deploying and managing applications on Heroku. The ideal candidate should have strong backend development skills, understand web frameworks, and have a good grasp of CI/CD pipelines, databases, and API integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Python and Django.
Design and manage PostgreSQL databases.
Implement RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on Heroku, ensuring high availability and performance.
Work with Git for version control and manage Heroku Git-based deployment workflows.
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Heroku Pipelines or GitHub Actions.
Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to deliver high-quality products.
Must-Have Skills:
Strong knowledge of Python (3.x) and the Django framework
Experience with Heroku, including deployment, add-ons, and dyno management
Proficiency in PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and Git-based workflows
Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and API testing tools like Postman
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript (to work with frontend teams)
Good-to-Have Skills:
Experience with Docker or other containerization tools
Understanding of Heroku CI/CD, pipelining, and buildpacks
Familiarity with Celery, Redis, and asynchronous tasks
Experience with logging and monitoring tools like Sentry, New Relic, or Papertrail
Basic DevOps skills for managing staging and production environments
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in Django development and Heroku deployment
