It is an amazing time to join Pocket FM as we continue shaping the future of audio entertainment both in India and beyond. We are front-ending the category creation for the audio OTT landscape and building the largest repository of audio streaming content across formats like audio series, audiobooks and podcasts, through our unique story telling approach. We are reimagining the traditional audio pattern to build an internet-scale platform and bring together communities to share stories and spread knowledge. Our mission is to give voice to stories and wisdom. Pocket FM has grown to 150million MAL (monthly active listeners), spending an average of over 100 minutes every day, while the total monthly audio streaming on the app counts to over 3 billion minutes. We are a Series C funded start-up backed by some of the marquee investors like Naver, Goodwater Capital, Lightspeed, Tanglin Venture Partners and others.
About the role:
The Tech Lead is responsible for managing the specifications, design, and development of large-scale, Internet-based applications. In this role, you will work as a leading member of the Product Development team to manage the delivery of scalable, high performance solutions for transaction-intensive web applications and services.
What You Will Be Doing:
Manage Specification, design, development, code reviews design review, and debugging of scalable and high-performance service-based web applications
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels
Manage and/or mentor junior and senior team members of the development team
Spearhead evaluation and research of the latest technologies and actively participate in architectural decisions
Coordinate application development projects and production issues with Product Management, Quality Engineering, and Application Support teams
Review work of the development team to ensure coding standards and best practices are being followed. Also, ensures applications meet performance and security requirements
Help continuously improve the software development life cycle processes used
Assist in recruiting efforts for development as well as other teams in the Technology department
Give performance evaluations and reviews to supervised employees
Provide technical guidelines for design and development when needed
Performance evaluations and reviews with supervised employees
Make decisions that help to evolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
What You Will Need for this Position:
B. Tech/B.E. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
6+ years of relevant software development and/or project management experience, in a professional environment
At least 2-3 years of management/leadership experience in a global software development organization
Prior hands-on experience working through the design, development, and release cycle delivering software to market and Experince in Python or Golang
Experience understanding business strategy and how it aligns with technology
Strong understanding of the software development cycle
Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skill
Experience solving complex and large-scale software problems maintaining the skills necessary to manage and advocate products and projects
Willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues as part of
Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done
Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must
Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with all levels in the organization
Must be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-changing entrepreneurial environment.
