Role Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Lead to own and scale the core backend architecture of our GenAI SaaS product suite. This is a dual-role: 50% building, 50% leading. You'll architect and optimize highly scalable backend systems using Python and PHP, and lead a growing engineering team to deliver world-class, enterprise-grade AI solutions.
This is a mission-critical hire with direct impact on product velocity, architecture decisions, and team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop robust, scalable backend systems using Python (Django/FastAPI) and PHP
Lead system design for microservices, REST APIs, real-time data processing, and large-scale backend infrastructure
Optimize performance of complex workflows, AI integrations, and database queries
Integrate Vector DBs, Langchain, LangGraph, and Function Calling to support GenAI features
Guide code reviews, testing, CI/CD practices, and ensure clean, well-documented code
Collaborate closely with frontend, AI/ML, product, and DevOps teams to deliver features at speed
Mentor junior developers and create a strong engineering culture grounded in excellence and ownership
Work closely with the founders to align product development with business goals and timelines

Must-Have Qualifications
5–9 years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years leading teams or projects
Proven experience building and scaling systems using Python and/or PHP
Strong grasp of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and backend performance optimization
Familiarity with AWS/GCP, Git, containerization, and database design
Experience integrating or working alongside AI/ML models is a big plus
Deep problem-solving ability, technical leadership, and strong communication skills
Background from Tier 1 or Tier 2 engineering colleges is preferred
