Title: Lead Java developer
Location: Remote
Client is looking for a Lead Java Software Engineer with strong leadership and product management qualities. In this role, you will contribute to global client projects and play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy and execution. You will work with a highly motivated team, driving key features at a fast pace. The services you develop will be mission-critical for our clients, enabling seamless payments, bookings, and expense management within seconds. You will help build a highly reliable and resilient application while fostering a culture of continuous improvement that values craftsmanship, developer productivity, and leadership
Roles and Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Product Strategy & Vision:Work closely with product managers to influence product roadmap decisions and drive features that align with business goals.
Design & Architecture: Architect and implement scalable, high-performance APIs and core services to support critical business operations.
Feature Development: Build impactful product features, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Quality & Performance: Ensure the quality of delivered features by implementing best practices in testing, monitoring, and documentation.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the product and design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Process Improvement: Drive best engineering practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and code reviews.
Innovation & Adoption: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, championing their adoption where beneficial.
Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical decisions, challenges, and solutions with key stakeholders across the organization
What we are looking for:
Strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals combined with
4+ years of experience in building scalable, high-quality products.
Demonstrated leadership experience, mentoring teams, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
Product-driven mindset with the ability to balance technical decisions with business needs and customer impact.
Deep architecture and API design expertise to build core services and innovative product features.
Strong sense of ownership, demonstrated through shipping production-quality code with robust testing, monitoring, and documentation.
Passion for problem-solving and continuous learning of new tools and technologies.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
Prior experience working at startups and/or on consumer-facing products.
Experience with Java, AWS, and/or distributed systems is a plus.
Proficiency in Spring Framework, Hibernate, or similar ORM technologies is a plus.
